David Hugh Lockett was born in 1958 and studied at Bath Academy of Art 1976/77 and Westhill Teacher Training College 1979/82. His teaching career included work in Mozambique 1987/88 and being Head of Art at the John Roan School in Greenwich, and at Christ the King Sixth Form College in Lewisham. In 2011 he retired from teaching and since then he has painted full – time.

His work has always been about Landscape /Cityscape and the spirit of place.
He has paintings in the Mozambican Embassy and the Miner’s Hall, Durham.
